Liverpool 1-1 Leicester City: Reds fail to go seven points clear of Manchester City with lacklustre draw

Liverpool missed a golden opportunity to go seven points clear at the top of the Premier League after only managing a 1-1 draw at home to Leicester.

Following Manchester City’s defeat at Newcastle last night, the Reds could have put themselves in a commanding position at the summit and got off to the perfect start when Sadio Mane gave Liverpool the lead after just two minutes.

But the Reds were lacklustre and let Leicester back in it when Harry Maguire took advantage of some slack defending to equalise just before the break.

It means Liverpool are now five points clear of Pep Guardiola’s men but it was not the result Jurgen Klopp’s men were looking for.
