Tottenham beat Chelsea to Ivan Perisic signing as Croatian star ‘says yes’ to Antonio Conte reunion and ‘dream’ Premier League transfer
Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign Inter Milan’s Croatian star Ivan Perisic as Antonio Conte bolsters his ranks after committing his future to the club.
The 2018 World Cup finalist has arguably been Inter’s top performer this season, earning plenty of interest as his contract expires this summer.

Inter have attempted to hold onto the 33-year-old after a season in which he looked revitalised playing at wing-back, but Spurs have offered the free agent what he was looking for.
According to Italian football insider Gianluca Di Marzio, Perisic has ‘said yes’ to Spurs’ offer of a two-year contract worth £5.1million [€6m], moving them ahead of Chelsea in the queue for his services.
The deal would be ‘a dream come true’ for Perisic, who is reportedly keen on playing in the Premier League after stints in France, Belgium, Germany and Italy.
The Croatia regular broke through at Borussia Dortmund under Jurgen Klopp before heading to Inter where he played under Conte.
Perisic spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Bayern Munich where he completed a European treble, and has since returned to Serie A, and excelled in a more withdrawn role.
Following up a title win under Conte last season, Perisic managed eight goals and seven assists in the league this campaign, as well as a Coppa Italia victory.

And now he looks set to continue in that position in Conte’s preferred 3-4-2-1 formation, with the Italian coach receiving backing from the north London side after a successful debut campaign.
Spurs secured a return to Champions League football with a 5-0 final day win over Norwich, and have since received a £150million cash injection from majority shareholder Joe Lewis.
Most of that money will go towards Conte’s summer spending, with as many as six arrivals expected to come through the door at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
