Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan has joined Bolton Wanderers on loan until the end of the season.

He finalised a temporary switch to the Championship club just before the deadline on the January transfer window and will see out the remainder of 2017-18 at the Macron Stadium.

The 25-year-old was recently sentenced to 40 hours of unpaid community work after pleading guilty to assaulting his girlfriend in December 2017. 

Flanagan has made 51 appearances for the Reds, scoring one goal, since his first-team debut in April 2011.

He joins a line of ex-Liverpool player to join the Trotters in recent years including David Ngog and Jay Spearing.
