So Barcelona aren't a top five club. Well, not in terms of a football study on popular teams in China. 

Conducted by sports digital and consultancy agency Mailman, the Red Card report is the leading annual report on the digital performance of European football in China. Now in its seventh year, it provides a deep insight into the preferences of football fans in the world's most populous country.

REVEALED: The most popular players in China

Using data from popular social media platforms such as Weibo [a Twitter-like microblogging site], the report features the five most popular clubs, with data being analysed and collected between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2017.
