Harry Kane next? The players who missed out on trophies by refusing to move club

Gerrard can look back on his career with pride, though he is sure to regret never winning that elusive Premier League title. Shortly after winning the 2005 Champions League final, Gerrard handed in a transfer request to try and force a move from Liverpool to Chelsea. He came close to leaving his boyhood club as they looked set for success under Jose Mourinho, but changed his mind and decided to stay at the final moment. Chelsea went on to win the Premier League the following year, and also claimed a further two titles before Gerrard left Liverpool in 2015.

Andre Villas-Boas has waded in on the Harry Kane debate.
The former Tottenham manager says England superstar Kane must leave Spurs if he is to win trophies throughout his career.
Villas-Boas said: "It depends on Harry and his ambitions for the future and how he sees his career going forward.
"If he has a hunger for trophies and for notoriety he would have to leave Spurs, if he has no hunger for that, but (wants) recognition and stability, he would stay at Spurs."
While there is a good chance Spurs will win silverware if Kane remains in north London for his career, he may decide to stay with the club even without claiming trophies.
He may value the history he will create with the Lilywhites over silverware, and, as AVB calls it, the 'recognition and stability' he will get from remaining a Tottenham player.
But in whose footsteps will Kane be following if he decides to turn down the chance for silverware elsewhere to stay with Spurs?
