Victor Lindelof could be sent out on loan this summer as Jose Mourinho is keen on bringing Samuel Umtiti and Jonny Evans to Old Trafford.
According to The Sun, Mourinho is a big fan of Lindelof, the Sweden defender, but is not certain if he deserves a first-team role right now.
Phil Jones and Chris Smalling have established themselves as impressive centre-halves under the Portuguese, and Mourinho wants to further strengthen the position this summer.
He has shown interest in Umtiti, the Barcelona defender, and West Brom’s Jonny Evans, who will be available for just £3m this summer if the Baggies are relegated from the Premier League due to a clause in his contract.
Lindelof, who joined United from Benfica last summer in a £31m deal, could be loaned out to make way for a new signing, and it is said a number of Premier League and European sides have shown interest in the 23-year-old.
Sweden international Lindelof has made 28 appearances in all competitions this season, but he has started only 12 league fixtures.
