Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt is unaware of any serious interest from Tottenham, amid reports he could replace Toby Alderweireld this summer.

The 18-year-old has been linked with a move to north London this summer as part of a deal that could be worth around £45million.

Tottenham reportedly view the Netherlands centre-back as the ideal replacement for Alderweireld and have been scouting him closely.

Belgian star Alderweireld is expected to leave the Premier League club this summer after fialing to agree a new contract, and has been linked with a move to London rivals Chelsea.

De Ligt, however, has heard nothing of Spurs’ interest in him ahead of the transfer window.

When quizzed about Tottenham’s reported interest, the Ajax star told FOX Sports: “I do not know anything about it.

“And my agent does not know anything about it. Today I played a match with Ajax and next week we have another one.”
