Manchester United are on red alert after reports emerged that Thiago Alcantara wants to leave Bayern Munich.

The midfielder has been a key man for the German champions over the past few years, ever since he joined them from Barcelona in 2013.

Back then there was a big scramble for the Spaniard’s signature, but Bayern beat the likes of Manchester United to land him.

However, according to Bild, Thiago has now told the German club that he wants to leave this summer.

The 27-year-old is said to be ready for a new challenge and a bidding war is likely to follow.

Manchester United wanted Thaigo back in 2013 and are likely to lead the charge, but interest could crop up from clubs in Italy and France too.
