Cameroon won their first ever U-17 Women's World Cup game, holders Korea DPR responded to their opening 4-1 defeat by Germany with a convincing 3-0 win over CONCACAF champions USA, a pair of second-half goals in a 2-0 win over Korea Republic saw Canada qualify for the quarter-finals and Colombia came from behind to battle for a point against Spain.

Following Manchester City’s defeat at Newcastle last night, the Reds could have put themselves in a commanding position at the summit and got off to the perfect start when Sadio Mane gave Liverpool the lead after just two minutes. But the Reds were lacklustre and let Leicester back in it when Harry Maguire took advantage of some slack defending to equalise just before the break. Travelling Liverpool fans were caught up in trouble ahead of Saturday’s showdown against Real Madrid , after being apparently attacked in a restaurant. The Daily Mirror published a video of violent scenes, claiming a group of Reds supporters were attacked by a 'gang on masked hooligans'.
