Angry Arsenal fan says ‘clueless’ Unai Emery ‘can’t motivate players’ after defeat to Liverpool in Carabao Cup
This Arsenal fan has had enough of Unai Emery, branding the Spanish boss ‘clueless’ after his side were beaten by Liverpool’s ‘B team’.
The Gunners crashed out of the Carabao Cup fourth round at Anfield on Wednesday night as they lost on penalties, after a ten-goal thriller against the Reds that had pretty much everything.

There were stunning goals from both teams, as well as plenty of defensive errors, in one of the most exciting games of the season so far.
But what makes the result even more incredible is that Liverpool led just once during normal time – after just six minutes when Shkodran Mustafi put the ball into his own net.
Arsenal went 3-1 up and, after James Milner got one back from the spot, the Gunners scored again to go 4-2 up on 54 minutes.
After goals from former Gooner Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Divock Origi made it 4-4, the visitors then led again as Joe Willock struck from long-range on 70 minutes to surely send the London club through.
But Liverpool weren’t done, and neither were the Gunners’ defensive blunders, as Origi scored again in stoppage-time to send the game to penalties, with Liverpool winning 5-4 from the spot.

It was a cruel result for Emery, but one that once again highlights his side’s frailties, even against a considerably less-experienced team.
While Arsenal also rested key players, Liverpool ended the match with six players aged 20 and below who had 12 first-team appearances between them.
In fact, it was their youngest team in any competition since January 2017 with an average age of 23 years and 122 days, with Harvey Elliot becoming the youngest Liverpool player to start at Anfield at 16 years and 209 days old.
And an angry Arsenal fan called into talkSPORT following the match to give his manager what for.
“Unai Emery is clueless sometimes,” he said on the Sports Bar.
“Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to disrespect him, but he looks clueless.

“I know everybody’s got their opinion on Ozil, but class is permanent and he was running the show tonight.
“I just don’t think he motivates the players enough.
“Arsenal at the moment, I don’t know where we’re going.
“It’s shambolic. It’s disgraceful, honestly.”
