Jose Mourinho has invited the Tottenham ball boy who helped them beat Olympiakos to a pre-match meal with the players on Saturday.

Callum Hynes, 15, started the attack for Spurs’ equaliser during the 4-2 victory with some quick thinking, allowing Mourinho’s men to catch the Greeks cold from a throw.

The goal proved a turning point as Tottenham cancelled out the visitors’ two-goal advantage and went on to seal qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Mourinho, who high-fived the youngster in the immediate aftermath, then went on to praise Hynes in his post-match press conference.

“He comes for lunch, for a pre-match meal with the boys,” said the Spurs boss in his Friday press conference.

“Happy days for the kid and hopefully we gave him amazing memories for the rest of his life, so beautiful for him.”

Hynes, who spent the rest of the night revising for a maths exam, has described the moment as totally unforgettable.

“You can see from my smile it was just unbelievable,” the ball boy told Tottenham’s official website.

“Jose didn’t have to do that. It was really nice of him to come over to me.

“It’s made my day, my life, really! I love Spurs and it was an amazing moment I’ll never forget.”
