At a shareholders’ meeting between the clubs, it was decided that the transfer window will shut at the end of August/early September after two seasons where it closed on the eve of the campaign.

But the ongoing issues surrounding coronavirus could have unprecedented effects of transfer spending this year.

The transfer window in England it still set to open at the end of May when the season has been scheduled to finish.

But the global pandemic wreaking havoc with the sporting calendar has meant football is on hold and will likely continue into the summer should it return to finish the current term.

Reports claim the window could still open in May and teams will be able to bolster their squads DURING the campaign to help aid the problems that coronavirus has dealt out.

It has also been claimed FIFA are holding talks with clubs about keeping the next transfer window open for longer to help out football financially.

The Telegraph say the 2020 summer window could remain open until JANUARY as spending on transfers is expected to fall when the season eventually finishes.

Keeping the window open for longer would help teams recover and then look at signing players once more.

The situation surrounding the transfer window is evolving day-by-day as world football continues to get to grips with the impacts of coronavirus.
