Manchester United have kicked off their Premier League campaign but are still looking to strengthen their squad before the October 5 transfer deadline.

The club have secured just one deal so far in this transfer window – signing midfielder Donny van de Beek from Ajax for £40million.

Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho has been their top target all summer but Borussia Dortmund have played hardball over his fee, and it looks like he’ll be staying where he is.

Alex Telles could be incoming before the deadline, though, from Porto, while Ousmane Dembele of Barcelona is among a host of attackers being linked with a move to Old Trafford, as an alternative to Sancho.

Travelling Liverpool fans were caught up in trouble ahead of Saturday’s showdown against Real Madrid , after being apparently attacked in a restaurant. The Daily Mirror published a video of violent scenes, claiming a group of Reds supporters were attacked by a 'gang on masked hooligans'.
