Arsenal transfer target Ben White ‘impresses’ wonderkid Bukayo Saka in England training with deal set to be done after Euro 2020
Arsenal transfer target Ben White already has a fan at the Emirates – England teammate Bukayo Saka.
The Brighton centre-back is believed to be edging toward a £50million move this summer, which will likely be confirmed after Euro 2020.
White did well in his maiden Premier League campaign last time out, which earned him a spot in Gareth Southgate’s provisional squad.
Injury to Liverpool ace Trent Alexander-Arnold saw White drafted into the 26-man group, and while he is yet to play at the tournament he’s delighting those around him.
Gunners wonderkid Saka, who might be seeing a lot more of White in the 2021/22 season, is one of those taking note.
He said: “I really like Ben White. I think he’s really good on the ball. He’s got composure, [he can use his] left foot or right foot, playing out of the back.
“Some of the stuff I’ve seen in training has really impressed me because I haven’t seen much of him this season.
“Seeing him in training I’ve been impressed.”
And White has also been praising Saka at Euro 2020.
After England’s win over Czech Republic, the Brighton ace revealed he’d been dazzled by the youngster.
He said: “It didn’t really surprise me, to be fair. Watching all the boys in training anyone could start the game and light it up. Especially with Bukayo, he’s been unbelievable in training.
“I didn’t really think he was as good as he was. It’s right foot, left foot, he can go either way, or shoot. He’s been really good.”
