The midweek clash was Norwich was tipped as a relegation six-pointer but it was also a landmark occasion for the head coach. It was a night where Eddie Howe realised the full extent of the task he faces at St James’ Park A bout of COVID-19 stopped Howe from being introduced to the crowd during the 3-3 draw with Brentford, meaning that his first meeting with the Newcastle fans would come on a night where there was little time for pleasantries. The new head coach acknowledged that he was excitement to make his first appearance at St James’ Park, but in typically modest style was keen to ensure that everyone’s focus was on the match itself.
