They say January is always a tough month to get business done.
But Premier League clubs had no issue splashing the cash in one of the most eventful ends to the winter window in recent memory.
As if we weren’t spoiled enough by Newcastle’s millions and Liverpool beating Tottenham to Luis Diaz, there was 11th-hour drama on deadline day.
Christian Eriksen returned to the Premier League as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang escaped to Spain while Aaron Ramsey ended up at Rangers.
There was plenty of action in between, so here’s how it all unfolded…
8:00am
Brentford knew just how to get such a hectic and chaotic day off to the most wholesome start by announcing the capture of Christian Eriksen.
The Denmark international suffered a cardiac arrest whilst playing at Euro 2020, but is now back in the Premier League until at least the end of the season.

Burnley might not have won the transfer window having sold Chris Wood but they certainty won the prize for deadline day announcement videos though.

Everton turned to Chelsea legend and former boss Frank Lampard to succeed Rafael Benitez, who was sacked in mid-January.
Lampard said: ‘I’m very hungry to get started’…how hungry? We’ll have to wait to find out if the ex-midfielder could sort out the Toffee’s issues in the middle of the park.

Manchester City’s long search for a striker finally came to an end as the club confirmed they had agreed a deal for Julian Alvarez.
Unfortunately for Pep Guardiola, the transfer came with a stipulation that meant the Argentine would stay on loan at River Plate for the rest of the season.

Tottenham fans were desperate for some incomings haven’t seen club record signing Tanguy Ndombele complete a loan back to former club Lyon.
But Spurs moved swiftly afterwards to ease the tension by unveiling the double signing of Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevki.
Uruguayan international Bentancur has joined permanently while Kulusevski moves on loan with an option to buy, and an obligation if certain criteria are met.

Newcastle were widely expected to be among the busiest clubs on deadline day but they waited a while to get their first player through the door.
And it turned out to be a loan move for Matt Targett after he had fell down the pecking order at Aston Villa following the arrival of Lucas Digne.

Everton boss Lampard satisfied some of that hunger with his first signing being a midfielder hungry to prove a point of his own.
Donny van de Beek has joined from Man United on loan for the rest of the season having featured in just 68 Premier League minutes this term.

Aaron Ramsey completes a shock return to the UK, joining Scottish Premiership side Rangers on loan from Juventus.
Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri made it clear that Ramsey’s time in Italy had come to an end and would be pressed to secure a move this January, and in the end Rangers made their move.
Juventus are covering the majority of Ramsey’s eye-watering £400,000-per-week for the initial loan phase, while there is an option to buy in the deal.

Boyhood Toon fan Dan Burn sealed a move to the Magpies from Brighton.
