Ralf Rangnick has given a hilariously blunt response to a fan’s question regarding big-name transfers at Manchester United this summer.

The Red Devils interim boss was outside the ground signing shirts following the draw with Watford when a supporter asked whether the club will sign Erling Haaland, Declan Rice and Jules Kounde this summer.

United still sit in the highly-contested fourth place spot as it stands even though they picking up just one point against relegation favourites Watford.

There are strong calls for the Red Devils to recruit in the summer to give them a chance to be more competitive next season.

That was certainly what the fan stood outside Old Trafford had in mind when he poised his question to the German, anyway.

All three names mentioned – West Ham’s Rice, Borussia Dortmund’s Haaland and Sevilla’s Kounde – have been linked with Man United in the past.

But Rangnick, rather humorously, dismissed the rumours and said: “What, are you dreaming?”

The Manchester Evening News reports that Rangnick has contacted Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge, about signing his son for United in the summer of 2022.

However, the United’s boss’ reaction to Saturday’s question won’t be filling supporters with faith, with the striker also wanted by rivals Manchester City.

Meanwhile, the Hammers’ second-choice captain, Rice, is understood to be top of United’s midfielder wish list. However, a return to his boyhood club Chelsea is thought to be more likely should he choose to leave West Ham.

On the other hand, the fan in the video will be pleased to hear France international Jules Kounde is one of the suggestions that does look actually look likely, with the centre-back’s club Sevilla already hunting for replacements.

However, United will again have to fight off Chelsea, who are also after the promising young talent after being unable to secure his signature last summer.
