Pablo Hernandez cries tears of joy with Leeds United faithful at Castellon match as fans on stag do go to support club legend
Over 50 Leeds United fans travelled to eastern Spain to watch cult hero Pablo Hernandez in his final game of the season for Castellon.
The Spanish footballer netted nine times for Leeds United in their Championship winning campaign which saw them return to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years.
Two of those nine goals were crucial match-winners against Millwall and Reading, keeping pressure on West Bromwich Albion in the race for promotion.
He also scored a pivotal goal against Swansea City that edged them closer to winning the league.
The midfielder left the Yorkshire outfit at the end of last season after making 175 appearances for the club, signing for recently relegated Primera División RFEF side Castellon where he began his career.
The Spanish side lost 3-1 on their home turf on Saturday, but Hernandez was by no means down in the dumps after the game thanks to his former club’s fans reception.
The Leeds hero was in tears as he went over to thank the Leeds contingent made up of stag dos and Valencia Whites, saluting them and holding up a Leeds scarf with his family as the fans sung ‘Marching on Together’
Meanwhile, Hernández’s wife Mar Garcia responded to Leeds United fans on Twitter following the game, saying: “Every video gets more and more emotional.
“Thank you Leeds. #untilwemeetagain”
