Tottenham assistant manager Cristian Stellini has revealed he will ring the changes when they face Sheffield United in the FA Cup.

The north London side travel to Bramall Lane to take on their Championship opponents in the fifth round on Wednesday, and No.2 Stellini will be in the dugout again with manager Antonio Conte still absent.

Tottenham are expected to name a largely second-string side, but could include Harry Kane in the starting XI after he missed Spurs’ fourth round win over Preston North End.

The 29-year-old has netted 21 goals in all competitions so far this season.

Asked if it’s a big decision to include Kane, Stellini said: “No, I don’t feel this. It’s normal that Harry wants to play every game and we want him to play every game.

“We will pick the right team to play a great match, we can win also by making some changes.

“We completely trust all the players we have so we can make changes and nothing has to change. Last season we were disappointed after the match against Middlesbrough [who knocked an under-strength Tottenham team out of the cup].

“But now we’re in a moment where players have to take responsibility to follow this momentum.

“Me, Ryan Mason, and all the staff are all working hard, it will be tough for sure tomorrow but we have the possibility to play a good game and win with all the players.”

Despite suggestions Conte could be back on the touchline, Stellini has said that won’t be the case, with a return date yet to be set.

The Spurs boss is currently recovering after undergoing surgery at the start of February to remove his gallbladder.

Conte will now remain in his homeland to recuperate further, as further checks are carried out on the Italian before his return.

“I think this week he will be back,” Stellini confirmed.

“He’s not in charge for this game but our doctor decides the right moment that Antonio comes back.

“It’s a question for our medical department because they check with the doctor who did the surgery.

“They check together every day and they decided the right moment for Antonio to come back, and I think it will be this week.”
