It's only pre-season, but Aston Villa star Ezri Konsa may well have scored one of the best goals all year.

Unai Emery's side have been competing in the Premier League Summer Series throughout the past week.

They drew 3-3 against Newcastle before sealing a 2-0 win over Fulham as top flight sides prepare for the new campaign.

Brentford were their final opponents in the pre-season competition that also features Chelsea, Newcastle and Brighton.

After just 22 minutes at the FedEx Field in the United States, the Bees were on hand to secure a 2-0 lead.

Bryan Mbeumo scored a penalty early on before a stunning curling shot from Josh Dasilva put Thomas Frank's side in control.

Dasilva's goal was packed full of quality, but Konsa decided to go one step further just five minutes later.

The centre-back picked up the ball from deep inside his own half and decided to go on a surging run forward.

Both Frank Onyeka and summer signing Kevin Schade tried to regain possession for Brentford from the Villa man, but to no avail.

Konsa was able to evade their tackles and continue his run before firing the ball into the back of the net from just inside the Bees' box.

It was a goal worthy of winning the game by itself, and it sparked Villa into life as they went on to go in front themselves.

New arrival Moussa Diaby scored his second goal in as many games before Matty Cash made it 3-2 with eight minutes until the break.

Konsa was replaced by Diego Carlos for the second half, with Shandon Baptiste equalising shortly after the hour mark.

Villa and Brentford went on to draw 3-3, meaning Chelsea or Fulham can win the Summer Series should one of them come out on top later this evening.
