Martin Odegaard over Dominik Szoboszlai and get rid of James Maddison – Darren Bent plays difficult start, bench, sell

Dominik Szoboszlai is top draw, but he wouldn't start over Martin Odegaard.

That's the view of talkSPORT Drive co-host Darren Bent, who played a game of start, bench and sell with the two Premier League stars and fellow midfielder, Tottenham's James Maddison.

Szoboszlai wears club legend Steven Gerrard's no.8 shirt and the Liverpool midfielder was compared with the former Reds skipper after he scored a screamer in their victory over Leicester this week.

The Hungarian's goal celebration even emulated one of Gerrard's and fans have proceeded to rave above him even more than they already were following his opening seven appearances for the club.

But despite noting how impressive the 22-year-old is, Arsenal fan and ex-Premier League star Bent wouldn't take him over Gunners captain Odegaard.

"I'm going start Odegaard, bench Szoboszlai and sell Maddison," Bent told his co-host Andy Goldstein.

When quizzed on his decision to sell the Tottenham midfielder, he said with a smile on his face: "Yeah, Szoboszlai's been very good, I'll have to sell Maddison, he ripped Arsenal to pieces!"

Maddison assisted both of Tottenham's goals in the 2-2 draw in the north London derby last weekend, taking his count for the season up to four, on top of his two goals, too.

Meanwhile, Odegaard has scored three times this season, including one in Arsenal's return to the Champions League.

Maddison has received more praise than Odegaard so far this campaign for his impact on his side. However, Bent maintains all three stars have been impressive this season.

"All three of them, I mean Odegaard is not a new signing, but certainly Szoboszlai and Maddison have both been top, top draw," he continued.

When asked if it was too early to say Maddison has been the signing of the summer he said: "Yeah, maybe a little bit early, [James] Ward-Prowse has been phenomenal for West Ham when you're talking about his set plays and his assists.

"It's early but I think you can say all of them, Maddison, Szboszlai and Ward-Prowse are all doing what they were brought in to do."
