Manchester United's 1-0 defeat against Crystal Palace saw #TenHagOut trending on social media.

The Red Devils returned to Old Trafford on Saturday after facing the Eagles at home during the week in a 3-0 Carabao Cup triumph.

It was a result that saw them make it two wins on the bounce in all competitions having also won 1-0 away at Burnley.

Victory at Turf Moor followed a run of three defeats for United, but this time they were left empty handed once more.

Palace sealed a 1-0 win thanks to a stunning finish from centre-back Joachim Andersen.

The Danish international fired in his first-time effort into the roof of the net as the south London side avenged their midweek defeat.

Such a result has seen Roy Hodgson become the first manager to go five consecutive games at Old Trafford without defeat in the Premier League.

His counterpart Erik ten Hag, however, appears to have generated frustration amongst fans as #TenHagOut trended on X.

Things were just as bad inside Old Trafford, with boos ringing out at full time.

United now sit 10th in the Premier League, with just nine points to their name from a possible 21.

Four defeats from seven is also their worst top flight start since 1989/90 when they finished 13th.

Club legend Gary Neville hailed their win over Palace during the week as their best performance of the season so far.

However, talkSPORT's Jason Cundy told fans not to get 'sucked in', with Hodgson's side eventually emerging victorious.

United's opening five games of the campaign saw them win two and lose three, with Tottenham, Arsenal and Brighton all beating them.

An opening Champions League clash against Bayern Munich also ended in defeat, with their early season form certainly fluctuating.

Ten Hag will be hoping to return to winning ways during the week against Galatasaray, with fan patience appearing to grow thin.
