Ange Postecoglou hilariously rips Gary Neville’s managerial credentials after joking he copied Pep Guardiola
Ange Postecoglou again showed why everyone’s falling in love with him by cracking up Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher.
The Tottenham manager saw his side beat Crystal Palace 2-1 for their best-ever Premier League start.
A Joel Ward own-goal and Son Heung-min matchwinner made it eight wins and two draws to open the season, bringing the good vibes back after a difficult few years for Spurs post-Mauricio Pochettino.
Much of that has been down to Postecoglou’s infectious personality which was on full display post-match.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the win, the Australian received a jibe from Jamie Carragher that he was just copying Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, and managed to brilliantly deflect it onto Gary Neville.
Former Liverpool defender Carragher cheekily said: “Do you think as the season goes on you can get your ideas across, because at the moment you’re just copying Pep, aren’t you?”

A grinning Postecoglou replied: “I mean, I just study one game per week to see what he’s doing and go from there. You know there’s nothing wrong with that!”
Carragher then said: “He’s done alright, to be fair.”
Neville then had his say, joking that he also tried to copy Guardiola during his ill-fated one-off management stint at Valencia.
“I tried to copy him..” Neville said.

“How did that go?” Postecoglou brilliantly replied.
Things got back to normal shortly after, but Postecoglou again had the pundits cracking up while shaking hands and saying his goodbyes.
“Just go and watch Man City instead,” he joked, with comedic timing almost as sharp as his team’s attacking play.
