Manchester United players are reported to have found their adidas kits too tight to wear and are now donning replicas.

The Premier League giants are struggling for form this season, with seven wins and seven defeats coming from their 14 games this season.

A 3-0 loss against Manchester City on Sunday sees them sit ninth in the Premier League, and the problems appear to show no sign of stopping.

However, recent matches seem to have presented an additional hurdle for Erik ten Hag's players.

The Daily Mail reports that some have complained that their adidas kits are too tight, with the sports giants now eyeing a solution.

United have not worn their official home socks since the second game of the season, a 2-0 defeat away at Tottenham.

Andre Onana is also said to have problems with his match jersey, with the goalkeeper now wearing a replica version which is looser.

He is said to have asked for such a change from what was a 'closer fit' after United's 2-1 win away at Sheffield United on October 21.

Ten Hag and kit staff have had complaints about the tightness of the socks on their calves, with some cutting holes in the back of them.

adidas are set to fix the kits for the players over the next month, with a source telling the Daily Mail they will make 'light amendments’.

It's not the first time United have had issues with their kits, although a previous occasion was more to do with the colour of their strips.

Southampton hosted Sir Alex Ferguson's side at The Dell in April 1996, with the Saints cruising to a 3-0 lead before half-time.

At the break, the legendary United boss took issue with their grey away kit as the sun made it difficult for the players to see each other.

"The manager just stormed in and said: 'Get that kit off, you're getting changed,'" Lee Sharpe, who played in the match, revealed in 2006.

And so they did, with United emerging out for the second half in a blue and white strip.

However, it did little to change their fortunes on the pitch as they fell to a 3-1 defeat and were fined £10,000 for breaching kit protocol, although Sir Alex said it was the best £10,000 he ever spent.
