Fans go mad as Jurrien Timber posts recovery video and Virgil van Dijk is among them
Jurrien Timber’s comeback is on schedule and everyone is delighted, not just Arsenal fans.
The Dutch defender was only 125 minutes into his Gunners career when an anterior cruciate ligament injury took him out of action in his Premier League debut against Nottingham Forest.
Timber is likely to miss the entirety of the current campaign, and potentially Euro 2024 for the Netherlands, but no timeframe was placed on his recovery after undergoing surgery.
There’s some very positive news, though, with the £34million signing from Ajax posting a series of promising updates on social media.
Timber was last seen making a public appearance back in Amsterdam in September, and despite being without crutches, he was walking apprehensively.
Now though, the 22-year-old is back in the gym, exercising and undertaking assisting running training sessions.

Timber captioned the videos and images, ‘#ProjectComeback Vol.2 Putting the work in,” and added a passage from the bible reading: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him who have been called according to his purpose.”
The post, Timber’s first in over two months, understandably cheered up a lot of his followers, including twin brother and Feyenoord star Quentin.
Dutch captain Virgil van Dijk was also delighted, posting a heart and a bicep, while fellow Oranje internationals Cody Gakpo and Steven Bergwijn left similar comments.
Just as thrilled were a number of Arsenal fans, with one writing: “We are winning the league when timber comes back,” while another added: “Can’t wait to have you back baller. We are all behind you.”
