Harry Kane and Christmas football go hand-in-hand so it’s going to be strange not seeing him smash in goals over the festive period.

The England captain has scored a remarkable 25 goals in just 22 games for the German club - with 21 of them coming in 15 Bundesliga matches.

He is on course to smash the Bundesliga single season record and can put his feet up in the knowledge that any question marks of his ability to thrive elsewhere have been firmly put to bed.

Kane and Christmas goals have been an ever reliable thing over recent years, something Tottenham will sorely miss.

He has scored more goals on Boxing Day (10) than any other player - netting in all seven of his appearances on December 26.

Across his whole career with Tottenham, he scored a remarkable 22 goals in matches taking place between December 26 and January 4.

Spurs have a trip to Brighton on December 28, followed by a visit from Bournemouth to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on New Year’s Eve.

They’ll need someone else to step up with the goals, all while Kane looks on from the beach.

"We're going somewhere hot, so we'll spend 10 days and just enjoy that time," Kane said. "I'm going to text all my mates in England a picture of me on the beach somewhere."

"I'm really looking forward to it. It's been tough here without the family for these four months, without the kids and without the wife."

Kane’s family remained in London following his £86.4million move from Spurs to Bayern Munich.

He initially stayed in a hotel, but is now reported to have found a house to live in.
